Egypt Belly Dance and Cultural Tour
Mid to end November 2025

Overview

In 2025, we will be offering a boutique 10-12 day Egypt training, tour and holiday experience to students. As well as exploring the best of Cairo, we will be having small individualised group workshops with some of the best teachers in Egypt, as well as lectures, and live musician experiences! There will be guided tours of Cairo, the Pyramids, special locations, cultural zar and tannoura folklore shows, shopping excursions to exclusive costume designers and Khan el Khalili market, evening show with Egypt’s current hottest stars such as Sahar Samara/Oxana/Zara/Shahrzad, a nile cruise, and a private live music experience with your opportunity to dance to live Egyptian music!

We're working hard to make this trip as reasonably priced as possible, and have managed to get some great group discounts. We also wanted to make sure we covered the most expensive costs so there are no big surprises on tour. Hopefully with a bit of saving it's doable, and we can help by offering different timelines for payment and instalment plans. The price will include flights, accommodation, all workshops and shows, Cairo cultural tours, breakfasts and one other meal per day (lunch or dinner), plus a few bonuses!

Dates: Departure and arrival dates will be based on the flight path but the trip will take place mid to end of November 2025.

• No big festival where you are one of over a hundred students in a workshop, but small individualised group workshops with some of the best teachers of oriental and folklore in Egypt.

• We are working with Yasmina of Cairo, and will be hosted at her dancers BnB and an adjoining guesthouse which is perfect for photoshoots, eating your breakfast on the balcony with a view of the pyramids, has a studio, and we will have her expert guidance on the beauty and raw experiences of traveling to this fascinating country. Together with Yasmina, we have hand-picked the best of everything for our tour.

• Candice has loads of experience hosting annual retreats, workshop festivals, and her previous student tours to Turkey, Spain and Morocco, so she knows what to focus on to make your dance holiday memorable, partner friendly, she always has extra surprises in store, and she understands how to make sure everyone is immersed in the culture, learns as much as they can, while having the most fun possible!

• Candice will be providing neatly packaged information on a regular basis a few months out from the tour, to give you reminders about important travel information and time to sort it out, as well as to get excited as we begin our countdown :)

• The tour has many of Cairo’s must see and do activities on the schedule, but we know that people like to have free time to relax or explore on their own, so there will be down time allowed in the itinerary.

• One of the biggest benefits of joining the tour is getting to share in the memories we make! Instead of being alone, together we will experience some of the most incredible sights, meet our dance heroes, taste food that can't be described, and laugh until our tummies hurt, all with new and old friends that will last a lifetime.

INCLUSIONS:

• Return Flights (from Auckland)

• All transport during the tour, as well as all transfers to/from airport and hotels.

• All accommodation (based on twin/triple share) across Yasmina’s BnB and next door guesthouse. Shared bathrooms. Single rooms SOLD OUT.

• All Breakfasts, plus one more meal per day included (Lunch or Dinner).

• Approximately 16 hours of exclusive group training with the BEST oriental and folklore teachers in Cairo. Examples of teachers could include: Yasmina of Cairo, Mohamed Kazafy, Passant, Dandash, Camelia of Cairo, Shahrzad, Ibrahim el Swazy, Hassaan Saber, Raqia Hassan, Randa Kamel, Aida Nour, Tito, Lubna, Hoda Ibrahim, Mohamed Salah, Aziza, Ashraf Kodak (Nubian and Saeedi).

• Minimum of 3 evening shows including both belly dance and folklore shows such as Zar performance at Makan cultural centre, Tanoura show, Nile cruise boat show, and a belly dance show at the top venues with current hottest dancer such as Sahar Samara, Zara, Shahrzad or Oxana.

• Live musicians experience with the opportunity to dance to the live music.

• Shopping at Khan el Khalili market and guided shopping trip to exclusive costumiers.

• Day trips to visit the famous sites in Cairo with professional english speaking tour guides who will show us all the local hot spots and help us understand the cultural importance of the historical sites we will visit.

• Non dancer/partner package includes everything except workshops, but does include entrance to all the shows and tours.

EXCLUSIONS:

• Passports, Visas, Travel Documentation and Travel Insurance (comprehensive insurance recommended)

• Spending money

• Drinks and one meal per day (these will be specified in advance on the final itinerary). 

• Additional activities not included on Itinerary - Prices are subject to fluctuations in exchange rates.

• Entrance fees to sites on guided tours.

• Tipping - Tour Guides, Bus Drivers, Waiters, etc.

• Optional extras such as Single Rooms, Photo shoot with Yasmina, Massage, and Horse/Camel ride into the desert.

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email within a few days, any updates leading up to the Egypt Tour, and a detailed information pack close to departure.
